The Alverstone Altitude Rush is back! What started as a school fundraiser has grown into one of the Upper Highway's most exciting obstacle course racing (OCR) events. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Alverstone Hills, spanning both Roseway Waldorf School and the Alverstone Wildlife Park, this is far more than just another race.

Expect spectacular scenery, muddy smiles, adrenaline-pumping challenges, and an unforgettable day out for competitors, families, and spectators alike.

Who Is It For?

Everyone! Whether you're a seasoned OCR athlete, a weekend warrior, a gym enthusiast, a group of friends looking for a challenge, or a family wanting an adventure together, there's a category designed just for you. Push your limits, encourage your teammates, or simply come along to have fun and make memories.

Entry Options & Categories

🏃 Individual Categories (Ages 14+)

• Open Elite Individuals (18+): For competitive OCR athletes. Standard OCR rules apply, with endurance-testing penalties for uncompleted obstacles.
• Open Individuals (18+): For individuals looking to test their strength and push their fitness boundaries.
• Junior Elite Individuals (14–17): For competitive younger athletes looking for a true OCR endurance challenge.
• Junior Individuals (14–17): Perfect for younger athletes wanting to get into OCR and test their fitness limits.

👥 Team Categories (Groups of 4)

• Open Teams (18+): For groups that are a little bit serious and a little bit fun. Start together, finish together.
• Junior Teams (12–17): Ready to test your team drive, fitness, and camaraderie.
• Family Teams (All Ages): Must include at least 1 adult. A category designed to test your family's love, drive, and attitude toward challenges.

* Note on Obstacles: If you or your team are unable to finish a specific obstacle, a fitness or endurance penalty will be issued to keep you moving forward!

Race Day Schedule & Times

Registration and on-the-day ticket sales kick off at 07:00 AM (Cash and Zapper sales only).

There will be two prize-giving ceremonies: one after all individuals have crossed the finish line, and one following the completion of the team events.

Venue & Event Information

📍 Venue: D435 Alverstone Road, Roseway Waldorf School

• Medals & Prizes: All participants will receive a medal upon completing the course, and small prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners of each category.
• Food & Refreshments: Delicious food and refreshments will be on sale throughout the day. Please note that no outside food, drinks, or alcohol are permitted on the property.
• Bag Drop: A secure bag drop location is available to keep your belongings safe. Cost is R20 for bags and R10 for keys (Cash or Zapper only).
