Founders Day 2024
On the 10th of September, marked a significant milestone at Roseway with a heartfelt celebration of Founders Day. This day not only honored the visionaries who laid the foundation of the school but also celebrated the vibrant community that continues to uphold its values.
Founded in 1985 by a group of six pioneering families and three dedicated teachers, Roseway Waldorf School began humbly in a small farmhouse nestled in Alverstone, now home to the Playgroup. What started as a modest initiative to bring the Waldorf philosophy of education to life has blossomed into a thriving school known for its dynamic, holistic approach to learning.
As the demand for Waldorf education grew, so too did the school. In1988, the Foundation Stone way laid on the current Primary school circle, marking the expansion of the school. On that day, children participated in festival activities, symbolizing the school’s commitment to nurturing the whole child—creatively, intellectually, and spiritually.
This year’s Founders Day brought the entire Roseway community together in a spirit of celebration and reflection. During the assembly, students and staff were reminded of the school’s rich history and the inspiring journey of its founders. Teachers and students presented moving Eurythmy performances, and the choir filled the air with harmonies that echoed the beauty of the day.
The festivities concluded with a joyful school picnic, where students and staff enjoyed a meal together under the spring sky, fostering the deep sense of community that is a hallmark of the Waldorf approach.
As we celebrate 39 years of nurturing conscious individuals, through dynamic education, we honor the past and look toward the future with gratitude for the enduring values that continue to guide Roseway Waldorf School. Here’s to many more years of growth, creativity, and lifelong learning.
